200px-The_Time_Traveler's_Wife_film_posterCan’t review the book as I haven’t read it, but if it’s written anything like the film, I’d say it’s gotta be pretty good.

Dan’s Rating System: Full Price
Kids? Mmm…no.

I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece. Not wonderful. But good. A solid film with solid performances. You find yourself laughing at the appropriate parts, and for many, crying at the appropriate parts.

I won’t delve into the metaphor of the film beyond saying that the author of the story beautifully illustrated how love and life go on randomly and inevitably. Philosophically, the film speaks a lot about determinism and free will and I said I wouldn’t delve into the metaphor of the film so I’m going to leave it there. I wouldn’t say it’s the deepest movie I’ve ever seen, but it should make you think.

All the while, it’ll entertain you, which is pretty much the point of movies. You should check it out. Good love story, and as chick flicks go, should be fun for you dudes too. C’mon. There’s time travel. It can’t be that bad.
